F.O.S. Inc. FUNDRAISING - CAN YOU OR WILL YOU HELP?

Friends of The Shelter Inc. has entered into an arrangement with Kelston Kennels to provide accommodation for 12 canines initially (awaiting re-homing) and the initiative has been named KELSTON 'SAFE HAVEN'. Friends of The Shelter Inc. is indebted to Kelston Kennels for sharing its vision and concern and for having the will to get it up and running. Kelston has been very generous indeed with the rate negotiated but, of course, we must pay our way and hence our Fundraising endeavours must escalate - rapidly.

Last year FOS held a successful Movie Night and Xmas Raffle and sold sponsored Greeting Cards (still available). BUT - It simply won't be enough to fund The 'SAFE HAVEN'. Friends of The Shelter Inc. is patently aware that we are a charity that attracts support, primarily from animal lovers, and the corporate dollars will go elsewhere. With limited personnel, Friends of The Shelter Inc. is unable to organise any additional Fundraising other than that mentioned above and, as a consequence, is reaching out to ask those of you in the community, who have the will, to raise funds on our behalf! Within days we have:

** a Fashion Retailer guaranteeing a % of all items sold off a designated rack to be donated to F.O.S. Inc.
** an Antique Doll Retailer will hold regular Fundraising Events.
** A Garage Sale will be held to support our endeavours
** and there are more ideas in the pipeline!

Any more retailers out there who can offer the same generosity? The list of opportunities to participate is endless and you need not be a business house, simply an animal lover, with some drive, an idea and a desire to see the animals of this Shire benefit from your efforts. Friends of The Shelter Inc. will support you in every way possible (advertising etc.) and direct you as to your Charitable Obligations (needless to say it is imperative that F.O.S. Inc. protect its good name and enhance the confidence the community has in it, so authorisation to raise funds is required!).

Friends of the Shelter Gift Card packs (8 diff designs). These cards feature lino cut artworks donated by 3rd 7 4th class art students from Gib Gate (2004) to F.O.S. (featured on this site). They are professionally printed (black on 300gsm card)with all printing costs sponsored by local businesses. Blank Gift Card Packs come as 8 cards plus envelopes, cello wrapped with ribbon decoration making them a gorgeous present or gift option at $8.00 per pack.

VOLUNTEERS

Support F.O.S. and the Kelston 'Safe Haven' by becoming a volunteer, stay healthy, get fit and enjoy a rewarding experience!

We require volunteers for TLC, training, walking & fund raising assistance. Contact us to discuss ways you can become involved.

We also have a group of Friends who deliver our weekly posters to the generous businesses in the area that display them. ANy help with this distribution would be greatly appreciated.

Dog walkers can help at Kelston Safe Haven tues, wed, fri, sat, sun 10am to 12 noon.
